Upcoming Smartphones Launching in August 2023 – Smartprix
July 2023 was an exciting month in terms of smartphone launches. The first week itself saw consecutive launches in the form of iQOO Neo 7, OnePlus Nord 3, Realme Narzo 60 series, Galaxy M34, and Moto Razr 40 Series. Apart from these, Carl Pei’s Nothing also launched its 2nd smartphone- Nothing Phone (2). The last week was exciting too as it saw Samsung launching Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Watch 6 Series, and Galaxy Tab S9 Series.
However, the month of August 2023 is also expected to be high in terms of some interesting smartphone launches. While some of these will come to India as well, some will be limited to China market only. Read on to know what can be expected in August 2023.
1. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5
Launch Date- Available in August
While Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold 5 in July, it will be available in India in August. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 has a 6.2-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch internal panel. Both are AMOLED panels with 120Hz refresh rates. The foldable is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset with 12GB RAM and 256GB/512GB onboard storage.
In terms of camera optics, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 has a 50MP triple camera setup, 4MP under-display selfie camera, and a 10MP selfie camera on the cover screen. There is a 4400mAh battery under the hood with 25W wired fast charging.
2. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5
Launch Date- Available in August
Just like Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5 will also be available in August. This 5th generation Flip phone has a large 3.4-inch cover display and a 6.7-inch main display with FHD+ resolution. It is also powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.
As for the camera, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 has a 12MP+12MP dual lens setup at the back and a 10MP selfie camera at the front. There is a 3700mAh battery under the hood with 25W wired fast charging. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 comes in beige, light green, dark gray and light pink shades.
3. OnePlus Open
Launch Date- 29 August 2023
We at Smartprix shared some exclusive renders of the first foldable by OnePlus. OnePlus Open will launch in August 2023 globally. According to leaks, OnePlus Open will have a 7.8-inch main display and a 6.3-inch cover display. Both displays will have a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with 16GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage. There is a 48MP rear camera setup along with a 64MP telephoto lens. Under the hood, there will be a 4800mAh battery with 67W wired fast charging support.
4. Infinix GT 10 Series
Launch Date- 1st week of August
Infinix has also confirmed that it will launch the Infinix GT 10 Series in August. Infinix GT 10 Series will include Infinix GT 10 Pro Plus, Infinix GT 10 Pro 5G, and Infinix GT 10 5G smartphones. The smartphone is making a buzz right now, the reason being some leaked images that showcase a transparent rear panel similar to Nothing Phone (2).
Although the specs of all 3 smartphones aren’t out yet, the brand has confirmed Dimensity 8050 chipset for Pro and Pro Plus models. The rear panel will have LED flash along with 100MP/108MP triple camera setups at the back. The smartphones will have 5000mAh or 7000mAh batteries with up to 160W fast charging capability. The pricing starts at Rs. 25,000.
5. Redmi 12 5G
Launch Date- 1 August 2023
Redmi has confirmed that it will launch the Redmi 12 5G smartphone in India in August 2023. Speculations are strong that Redmi 12 5G will be priced under Rs. 15,000. Redmi 12 5G will be powered by Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset and sport a 6.79-inch FHD+ 90Hz display. There will be a 50MP dual camera setup at the back and a 5MP selfie camera at the front. Under the hood, there will be a 5000mAh battery with 18W charging.
6. Tecno Pova 5 Series
Launch Date- August 2023
Tecno Pova 5 Pro Series landing page has gone live on Amazon. Although the page doesn’t reveal any features of the smartphones, the brand has confirmed that the series will launch in India in August. With the Tecno Pova 5 Series, the brand has come up with Arc Interface Feature that gives RGB lighting on the back panel. This looks similar to Nothing Phone (2)’s glyph interface but with a difference. With the arc interface feature, these lights will blink on incoming calls and there are 5 lighting effects available.
According to reports, Pova 5 will have a 6.78-inch IPS LCD display with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is expected to be powered by Helio G99 chipset and has a 50MP dual camera setup at the back and an 8MP lens at the front. Pova 5 Series smartphones are said to have a 6000mAh battery with 45W fast charging under the hood.
7. Samsung Galaxy F34 5G
Launch Date- August 2023
Samsung has confirmed that it will soon launch a new smartphone in the Galaxy F-Series. The Samsung Galaxy F34 5G will be launched in India in August but the date hasn’t been announced yet. Samsung has also confirmed that the device will feature a 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, 1000 nits brightness, and 50MP primary rear camera setup.
The official posters confirm that the Galaxy F34 will pack a 6000mAh battery and the camera setup will come with Fun mode and 16 types of lens effects. The smartphone is expected to be slightly cheaper than Galaxy M34 launched in July. It will retail via Flipkart and Samsung’s official website.
8. Moto G14
Launch Date- 1 August 2023
Motorola has confirmed that it will launch the budget Moto G14 smartphone on the 1st of August in the country. It will be an entry level smartphone with 4G connectivity. Motorola has used the tagline- Hatke Style Hatke Entertainment for this smartphone. It will have a 6.5-inch FHD+ display along with a stereo speaker and Dolby Atmos sound support.
Moto G14 will be powered by Unisoc T616 chipset with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. There will be a 50MP primary camera at the back. There will also be a 5000mAh battery, dual SIM support, a dedicated microSD card, 20W fast charging, and more.
9. Huawei Mate 60 Series
Launch Date- August 2023
Huawei will launch its Mate 60 Series in August. Reports claim that the Huawei Mate 60 series will come with a Spirit Island design, similar to Dynamic Island on Apple’s iPhones. The Mate 60 Smartphones are expected to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and have 3 storage configurations- 8GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, and 12GB/1TB.
10. Xiaomi Mix Fold 3
Launch Date- August 2023
Xiaomi Founder and CEO Lei Jun have confirmed that the upcoming foldable from Xiaomi will be launched in August and will have Leica-tuned cameras. It will be a book-style foldable and will support micro-optical image stabilization for ultra-slim high refractive lenses. The renders reveal that the smartphone will have a black color variant and sport a waterdrop hinge at the front.
Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 is expected to have an 8.02-inch FHD+ inner display and a 6.5-inch cover panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is said to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. Mix Fold 3 is tipped to have a 4800mAh battery with 50W/67W wired fast charging.
11. Redmi K60 Ultra
Launch Date- 1st half of August
Redmi K60 Ultra will be launched in China in the first half of August 2023. The smartphone will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset for the fastest performance. Leaked renders claim that the rear has two large circular-shaped camera modules with 2 large circular cameras, a small circular camera, and a pill-shaped dual-tone LED flash. The display has slim bezels and a center punch-hole camera.
The K60 Ultra is rumored to arrive with an AMOLED display with a 1.5k resolution and a refresh rate of 144Hz. It might come with a 5000mAh battery and 120W fast charging support.
12. OnePlus Ace 2 Pro
Launch Date- August 2023
OnePlus has hinted that the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro will launch in August in China. The brand has also confirmed that it will be the first phone in the world to be equipped with the Tiangong cooling system. So far, the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro will have a 6.7-inch OLED panel with a 1.5K resolution and a buttery smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with 24GB RAM and 1TB storage.
The smartphone will also have a 5500mAh battery with 150W charging support. In terms of camera optics, the device is said to sport a 32MP front-facing camera and a triple camera setup on the back including a 50MP main, 48MP ultrawide, and a 32MP telephoto lens.
13. iQOO Z7 Pro
Launch Date- 1st/2nd week of August
iQOO has confirmed the launch of iQOO Z7 Pro in India next month. Tipster Paras Guglani has also revealed some key specs of the upcoming iQOO device. According to him, iqoo Z7 Pro will have a 6.78-inch AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, and HD+ resolution. It will be powered by Dimensity 7200 chipset with up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. The smartphone is expected to run Android 13 and pack a 4600mAh battery with 66W fast charging support. The back might have a 64MP camera setup and the starting price is expected to be Rs. 29,999.
14. Realme GT Neo 6
Launch Date- August 2023
Realme will launch GT 5 (that is probably the new name of GT Neo 6) in August. OnLeaks claims that Realme GT Neo 6 might be launched as Realme GT 5. The leaked renders feature a large camera module that covers the top thirds of the phone and includes 2 circular camera cutouts. The right side of the module mentions the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Other rumored specs include a 6.74-inch 144Hz OLED display, 16GB RAM, 50MP OIS camera, Android 13, and more. It might come in 150W and 240W charging variants.
15. Vivo V29 Series
Launch Date- August 2023
Vivo V29 Series is expected to launch in August 2023. The series will include 3 models- Vivo V29, Vivo V29 Pro, and Vivo V29e/Lite. Reports claim that the Pro Model will be equipped with a 6.78-inch AMOLED FHD+ 120Hz display, a Dimensity 8200 chipset, 12GB RAM, 512GB storage, and a 4600mAh battery with 80W charging. It is rumored to have a 50MP OIS-enabled main, 12MP telephoto, and an 8MP ultrawide lens at the back. Vivo V29 is expected to have a 6.78-inch AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, 50MP OIS-enabled camera, Snapdragon 778G chipset, 12GB RAM, 256GB storage, and a 4500mAh battery with 80W charging.
Both smartphones will run Android 13 and FunTouchOS 13.
16. Poco M6 Pro
Launch Date- August 2023
The first 6-series Poco phone is expected to arrive in India in August 2023. The Poco M6 Pro has been spotted on BIS with model number 23076RN4BI. Poco M6 Pro is expected to be a rebrand of the Redmi Note 12R. If that comes out to be true, then it will have a 6.79-inch 90Hz display, 5MP selfie camera, 50MP main camera, 2MP secondary sensor, Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, MIUI 14 custom skin out of the box, 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging, 4G, 5G, and 8GB RAM/256GB storage.
