Twitter Gets Nostalgic Over Domino’s Printed Coupons From The Good Old Days

0

Most of us must have noticed how digitisation has taken over the hospitality industry. Everything from menus to coupons is now available in a digital rather than printed format. Cloud kitchens have built lucrative businesses by interacting with customers exclusively online. Orders via food delivery apps have become the norm rather than the exception. But do you recall a time before such large-scale digitisation? For instance, do you remember receiving paper menus with your food delivery? If you checked them closely, you would sometimes find discount coupons that you could tear off and use for your next order. Sounds quaint, doesn’t it?

Recently, a Twitter user (@smrithicore) posted about this old-school practice. In all caps, she wrote, “Just remembered how dominoes would give printed pamphlets and coupons with their pizzas ages ago.” Her Tweet left many other users feeling nostalgic. They began musing about the good old days before the advent of only-digital interactions. It may seem like a small, banal aspect of life. But it is interesting to note that something that was once so common has now completely disappeared from our daily lives.

One person wrote in all caps, “They had those little discount coupons and you would get one with every order.”

Another user shared, “I used to go to my neighbour’s house and ask them if they had any coupons every time I ordered dominoes.”

Many of us may remember getting the coupons, but did we ever take advantage of them? As one user wrote, “Fr man, but I never used those coupons.”
