Twitter comes up with theories, claims Deepika Padukone is ‘main villain’ in Pathaan: Will she fool Shah Rukh Khan?

The official trailer of the spy thriller Pathaan was unveiled by Yash Raj Films on Tuesday. The movie features Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham in the lead roles. The over two-minute-long trailer begins with John Abraham-led terrorist outfit announcing an attack on India. Shah Rukh Khan is seen as a soldier who has a mission to take down John. In the action-packed trailer, Shah Rukh is seen as a daredevil. The story moves to various international sites where Shah Rukh chases John Abraham. Throughout the trailer, Deepika has moments where she gets to try her handslick action. After watching the trailer, the internet is convinced that not only John but Deepika is also the ‘bad guy’ in the film.

A Twitter user wrote, “#PathaanTrailer looks like Deepika will be playing the bad guy.” Another person said, “Deepika is the main villain here, John is not!!!???” “Kya Deepika cheat karegi SRK ko (Will Deepika cheat SRK)?” “I’m sensing from the trailer Deepika will be the real villain in Pathaan,” read a tweet.

“Everyone is prepared for SRK vs John. But I don’t know why I feel her character to be mysterious. She is definitely going to be a surprise package,” tweeted a fan. “Imagine Deepika turning villain after Pathan falls for her,” said a person. “Hear me out, if Shah Rukh Khan is a good character and they gave him the colour green and John is the villain character and they gave him the color blue… Why does Deepika have the color blue then and supposed in the end she will be a good character?” asked a Twitter user.

Pathaan will release on January 25 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Actor Salman Khan will make a cameo appearance in the film, helmed by Siddharth Anand. The film also stars Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana among others. Pathaan marks Deepika and Shah Rukh’s fourth collaboration after Om Shanti Om, Happy New Year, and Chennai Express.

Shah Rukh will also be seen in director Atlee’s upcoming action thriller film Jawan with Nayanthara and Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki with Taapsee Pannu. Deepika, on the other hand, will be next seen in The Intern remake; Project K alongside Prabhas, and in Siddharth’s Fighter opposite Hrithik Roshan.
