The pace of smartphone launches in India has accelerated since the beginning of the year, and January was a busy month. The same can be said for February, which is about to end. In the last three weeks, about 15 new smartphones have been released, and the month isn’t even over yet. Here’s a look back at the top smartphone launches from February 2023 as March draws nearer.

Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, Galaxy S23 Ultra

The Samsung Galaxy S23 series is the first ultra-flagship launch of the year and includes the vanilla Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra (review). All three phones come with updated internals including new-generation AMOLED panels, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 custom SoC, along with up to 12GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage.

The Galaxy S23 and S23+ sport the same triple camera setup with a 50MP main lens, ultra-wide angles, and a telephoto sensor. The difference can be seen on the Galaxy S23 Ultra which now gets a 200MP camera that is assisted by an ultra-wide camera, and two telephoto sensors with support for 3x and 10x optical zoom, respectively. The Samsung Galaxy S23 series devices include OneUI 5.1, Wi-Fi 6E, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, and a battery that ranges from 3,900mAh on the Galalxy S23 all the way to a 5,000mAh cell on the S23 Ultra.

OnePlus 11, 11R

OnePlus at their big Cloud 11 launch event announced both the OnePlus 11 flagship and OnePlus 11R budget flagship smartphone. The OnePlus 11 (review) stays true to its flagship character and comes with a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC at its heart, and a solid triple camera setup on the rear with the Hasselblad colour science. The handset is juiced by a 5,000mAh battery with 100W fast charging support and brings some industry-first features including a dedicated display chip, support for WiFi 7, LPDDR5X RAM, and a 4 Android version update promise in the future.

The OnePlus 11R (review) on the other hand is targetted towards budget flagship lovers and brings an all-new 6.74-inch 1.5K curved AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM. The handset does not cut back on photography and packs a triple camera setup with a 50MP main sensor minus the Hasselblad branding. Other expected features on the handset include an alert slider, an IR blaster, and a 5,000mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging.

POCO X5 Pro

The POCO X5 Pro is a major step forward when compared to the POCO X4 Pro from last year. The handset is a more balanced product with a sweet price tag. The phone has a gorgeous 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with up to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Powered with the dated Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC, the X5 Pro strikes a perfect balance between performance and battery life. In terms of cameras, the X5 Pro (review) has a triple rear camera setup with a 108MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor, along with a 16MP selfie camera. The phone runs on MIUI 14 based on Android 12 and draws power from a 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging support.

iQOO Neo 7

The iQOO Neo 7 is a gaming phone at its heart and will be the de facto choice for gamers in the coming months. It comes with a 6.78-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC. The highlights of the handset include a dedicated gaming centre, large vapor cooling chambers, improved haptics, a 1,000Hz instant touch sampling rate, and a 5,000mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging. The phone lacks a versatile camera setup and comes with a triple camera setup on the back with a 64MP main sensor align with two 2MP sensors.

OPPO Reno 8T

The OPPO Reno 8T joins the Reno 8 family as its newest member. The handset sports a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G SoC and paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The Reno 8T features a triple camera setup on the back with a 108MP main sensor and two 2MP sensors one of them being a microscope lens capable of upto 40X zoom. A 32MP camera placed on the front of the device takes care of selfies and video calls. OPPO Find N2 Flip

The Find N2 Flip is OPPO’s first foldable that is making its global debut. The handset packs in a 6.8-inch FHD+ foldable display with a 120Hz refresh rate. There is also a 3.26-inch outer display which is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Powering the device is a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 Plus SoC with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. There is a dual camera setup on the foldable with a 50MP main sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens while a 32MP shooter up front takes crisp selfies. The Find N2 Flip relies on a 4,300mAh battery with 44W fast wired charging support, and runs on Android 13-based ColorOS custom skin with a promise of 4 years of Android updates.

Nokia X30

The Nokia X30 is an interesting product that has already stirred up some spicy conversations on social media since its launch because of its India pricing. The handset features a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz high refresh rate. It is powered by the tried and tested Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC, and comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. It gets a dual camera system that comprises a 50MP main sensor, and a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens along with a 16MP selfie snapper. The X30 comes with 5G, 4G VoLTE, an in-display fingerprint sensor, an IP67 rating for water resistance, along with a 4.200mAh battery with 33W support for fast charging.

Vivo Y100

Vivo’s latest mid-range smartphone in the market is the Y100 aimed at the under Rs 30,000 market. The device gets a 6.38-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 90hz refresh rate and support for HDR10+. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC and comes in a single option with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The handset gets a triple camera system a 64MP main camera and two 2MP sensors. The front camera is a 16MP snapper for crisp selfies. The Vivo Y100 houses a 4,500mAh battery with 44W FlashCharge fast charging support and comes pre-loaded with Android 13-based FunTouchOS 13 out of the box.

Infinix Zero 5G 2023 and Zero 5G 2023 Turbo

The Infinix Zero 5G 2023 and Zero 5G 2023 Turbo sport a 6.78-inch Full HD+ display with a 120Hz screen refresh rate. While the Zero 5G 2023 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 920 SoC while the Zero 5G 2023 Turbo gets the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 processor. Both the Infinix Zero 5G 2023 and the Infinix Zero 5G 2023 Turbo smartphones get a 50MP main camera, a 2MP depth camera, a 2MP macro camera at the back, and a 16MP snapper on the front for selfies. The feature list on the Infinix Zero 5G series includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm audio jack, Stereo speakers, and Hi-Res audio.
