NAIA Softball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Three Mid-South Conference teams are ranked in the first regular season NAIA Softball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Wednesday.
Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) is the highest-rated conference team in the poll at No. 3. The Lions earned 462 points and are off to a 5-3 start. Freed-Hardeman begins conference play this weekend against Georgetown (Ky.)
Cumberlands (Ky.) moved up 11 spots from the preseason poll to No. 13. The Patriots garnered 333 points and are 19-2 and are on a five game winning streak. Cumberlands is off to a 3-0 start in MSC play.
Campbellsville (Ky.) earned 130 points in the poll and are slotted 24th. The Tigers are 10-6-1 and open conference play this weekend against Tennessee Southern.
Mobile (Ala.) sits atop the poll with 16 first-place votes and 527 points. Indiana Wesleyan is ranked second with 476 points. Texas A&M Texarkana is fourth with 454 points and one first-pace vote while Oregon Tech is fifth with 452 points.
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and the Continental Athletic Conference (Independents).
The next regular season poll is scheduled to come out on Wednesday, March 22.
