This Indian Dessert Made It To The “50 Best Rated Frozen Desserts In The World” List

We all experience days that require something cold, sweet, and refreshing. When the weather turns hot, it actually feels sticky and the humidity makes the air feel like molasses. At that time, a hot slice of pie or a warm brownie just isn’t going to cut it. The only thing that can cool us down are desserts that have been frozen solid prior to serving. And, ice cream isn’t the only option. Recently, TasteAtlas, a popular food and travel guide released a list of the “50 best-rated frozen desserts in the world.” And the results grabbed our attention for multiple reasons.

Iran’s famous Bastani Sonnati took the top spot, followed by Peru’s Queso Helado, the famous cheese ice cream. Turkey’s Dondurma, USA’s Frozen Custard, Filipino ice cream Sorbetes, along with Italian dessert Gelato al Pistacchio were also in the top 10. Among the top 20, we were proud to discover that Indian kulfi was ranked 14th. Kulfi falooda was considered separately and it occupied the 30th spot.

In India, when it comes to summer favourites, kulfi definitely tops the charts. After all, it’s a rare creamy concoction that is delicately flavourful and just the right amount of frozen.
