Now the makers of the pod are poised to release an at-home version, Somahome, with a more accessible price tag (the current models start at around $20,000). It’s the safe space we’ve all been waiting for.
Haute-tech TV: The 65-inch LG Signature R1 Rollable OLED TV
A little bit space age and with a dash of stylish Bond villain, the world’s first rollable TV has arrived in Australia, and it’s a seriously lust-worthy gadget. The LG Signature Rollable OLED TV has a wafer-thin 65-inch screen that rolls in and out of a state-of-the art sound system to three different heights.
When the screen’s hidden, it fits inside a chic aluminium base stand housing a 100W, 4.2-channel speaker, with Dolby Atmos sound.
It almost looks like magic, but it’s not an illusion; the screen really does roll up like a tube of wrapping paper, thanks to OLED’s self-lit pixel technology. If your interior design vibe is minimalist, a vanishing screen is definitely a plus, but you’ll need to pay top dollar for the privilege; the TV, now available to pre-order, packs a $130,000 price tag. It’s available for custom order only.
