Tamannaah Bhatia recalls feeling uncomfortable while watching sex scenes with family: ‘Didn’t do intimacy in my movies’

Tamannaah Bhatia, who recently starred in Lust Stories 2, confessed that she used to be uncomfortable while watching sex scenes with family. Her confession comes days after she urged fans to watch Lust Stories 2 without any hesitation as it has a lot more than just ‘lust.’ In a new interview, she recalled the time when she didn’t do any intimate scenes in films. Tamannaah previously said she had a no kiss policy in her contract, which she broke for Lust Stories 2. In the Netflix anthology, she stars with Vijay Varma whom she has kissed on-screen for the first time. Vijay and Tamannaah fell in love while working together.

Talking about the show, Tamannaah told News18, “I was that audience that would get awkward sitting with my family, sitting and watching something like that. I would start looking around, I would start fidgeting or be uncomfortable and for a large part of my career, I didn’t do any intimacy in my movies or in anything that I showcased.”

“So for me, it was a journey from being an actor who caters to a massier audience to now doing stuff that, growing up for me, was a stigma. I just don’t want that to happen to the audience now cause they don’t need that anymore. That illusion has broken for me, so I am enjoying exploring myself as an artist and doing varied characters and work,” she added.

Lust Stories 2 has an ensemble cast, including Kajol, Neena Gupta, Tillotama Shome, Mrunal Thakur, Kumud Mishra, Amruta Subhash and Angad Bedi. It’s directed by Sujoy Ghosh, R Balki, Amit Ravindernath Sharma and Konkona Sen Sharma. It released on June 29.

The Hindustan Times review of the series read, “As for the story and how it unfolds, Sujoy Ghosh tried to build a lot off drama but by the time the big reveal happens, it’s too late and it almost fails to keep you invested. In fact, the plot that’s so convoluted could have been less complicated to make a point it wanted to. Tamannaah and Vijay shown to be a couple having an extra marital affair are refreshing and you feel some sparks only in that portion when they’re together. The short needed more of a backstory and looks very rushed from start to end.”
