Swiggy order list on New Year Eve: 1.5 lakh biryanis, 1.75 lakh chips and more … – Times of India

Food ordering app Swiggy did some impressive numbers this New Year’s day. The company shared details in a number of tweets via its official handle on Twitter. One of the most popular foods ordered was Biryani. “With 3.50 lakh orders, Biryani was the top item that was delivered,” the company said.
As for the type of Biryani, Hyderabadi topped Swiggy’s poll. Hyderabadi biryani came first with 76% votes, Lucknowi biryani was a distant second with 14.2% votes and Kolkata third with 9.7%. Swiggy delivered 1.65 lakh Biryani orders by 7.20 PM on December 31. As for restaurants, Bawarchi in Hyderabad delivered two Biryanis per minute on 2021 New year Eve and for December 31, 2022, it prepared 15 tonnes of the delicacy to meet the demand.
