Suniel Shetty Launches New Food Delivery App – All You Need To Know
In the past few years, food delivery has become like second nature for us. The moment we want to eat some delicious food, we know that it’s only a couple of taps away. Recently, the world of food delivery applications has been buzzing with activity. A number of new delivery applications are now attempting to offer discounts and reduce costs to entice consumers. Actor-entrepreneur Suniel Shetty too has ventured into the food space with the launch of a new food delivery app.
The app named ‘Waayu’ was launched in an announcement made on Tuesday in Mumbai. It is founded by Anirudh Kotgire and Mandar Lande, with Suniel Shetty as the brand ambassador and also an investor. Waayu is also backed by the Indian Hotel and Restaurant Association (AHAR) in Mumbai, as per multiple reports. The app claims that it is less expensive than other competing delivery aggregators, and also charges ‘zero commission’ so that the benefit passes on to the consumer.

The app’s cost is Rs. 1,000 per month, later slated to increase to Rs. 2,000. Currently, it is functional only in Mumbai but the team plans to expand to other cities later and also connect to the government-backed platform Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).
Meanwhile, on the work front, Suniel Shetty has already backed up several start-ups in the health and sports sectors. His LinkedIn page is also abuzz with activity and discussions around acting, tech and startups. He will also be returning to the screen in the much-awaited ‘Hera Pheri 3’ that is rebooting much to the delight of fans.
