NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Friday.
Shares of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 3.55 per cent), Granules India(up 2.78 per cent), Laurus(up 2.01 per cent), Ipca Laboratories(up 1.25 per cent) and Cadila Healthcare(up 1.1 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Divis Laboratories(down 1.54 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(down 1.25 per cent), Abbott India(down 1.06 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals(down 0.84 per cent) and Strides Pharma Science(down 0.8 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.02 per cent down at 13446.1.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 5.55 points at 17511.3, while the BSE Sensex stood down 20.46 points at 58786.67.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 ended in the green, while 25 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, Trident Ltd and TV18 Broadcast were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Coffee Day Ent, Network18 Media, Mirza Intnl, Hind Const Co and Rajdarshan Ind hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Patel Integrat(PP), Dev Information Tech, Rajshree Polypack, Shivalik Rasayan and Strides Shasun hit their fresh 52-week lows.
