NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Friday.
Shares of Cipla(up 7.42 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(up 6.84 per cent), Pfizer(up 4.82 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 3.47 per cent) and Divis Laboratories(up 2.88 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Laurus(down 2.21 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 1.99 per cent), Gland Pharma(down 1.23 per cent), Granules India(down 0.94 per cent) and Ipca Laboratories(down 0.41 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 1.7 per cent up at 13797.1.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 509.8 points at 17026.45, while the BSE Sensex stood down 1687.94 points at 57107.15.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 5 ended in the green, while 45 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Ibull Housing Fin, Tata Power, YES Bank and Trident Ltd were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Urja Global(PP), Tarsons Products Ltd., IndiaPowerCorp, Palred Technologies and Sarthak Metals hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while RPP Infra Proj(PP), Shyam Metalics and Energy Ltd., Destiny Logistics & Infra Ltd., Nidan Laboratories And Healthcare Ltd. and Crown Lifters hit their fresh 52-week lows.
