Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.45% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 10:34AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.

Bandhan Bank(up 1.56 per cent), Axis Bank(up 0.75 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(up 0.45 per cent), ICICI Bank(up 0.42 per cent) and Punjab National Bank(up 0.4 per cent) were among the top gainers.

HDFC Bank(down 1.8 per cent), IDFCBANK(down 1.15 per cent), Federal Bank(down 0.7 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.66 per cent) and State Bank of India(down 0.37 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was down 0.45 per cent at 37464.25 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 128.6 points at 17679.05, while the BSE Sensex was down 465.32 points at 59145.09.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, JP Power, Suzlon Energy and Shree Ren Sug were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Mohit Inds, BLS Int. Services, Uma Exports Ltd., Shree Ren Sug and TheBykeHospitality hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while GMR Power and Urban Infra Ltd., Debock Sales & Mktg, Shakti Pumps, Innovative Tyres & T and Felix Industries hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
