Stock market risks: ETMarkets Investors’ Guide: What are key risks to market at present? | The Economic Times Podcast

0
Welcome to ETMarkets’ Investors Guide, a show about asset classes, market trends and investment opportunities. This is Saloni Goel.

The Budget 2022 was received well by the market, with many market analysts largely assigning it an 8 out of 10 rating, thanks to capex boost, no populist measures and realistic growth targets. But as the dust settles on this mega event, global cues and state elections could soon take centre stage.

The role of quarterly earnings here is important as India is seen clocking perhaps the best earnings growth in Asia this year, with only Indonesia and the Philippines higher in terms of consensus forecasts.

Amit Mudgill of ETMarkets.com talked to G Chokkalingam, founder and chief investment officer at Equinomics Research to know hits and misses in the Budget and risks that lie for the domestic market ahead.

Welcome to the show, sir.

1. What according to you were hits & misses in the Budget?

2. If you were to choose three themes that may benefit the most from the Budget announcements, what would they be?

3. What are key risks to the market at present? Do you think the equity market is ignoring the bond market threat?

4. What signals do you think the Budget has sent to RBI policy makers ahead of the February policy meet next week?

5. What expectations should stock investors have in terms of returns in 2022?

Thank you sir for your time and insights.
