sony: Sony PlayStation Plus to launch in India in June: Price, games and other details – Times of India

Sony introduced a new gaming service called Sony PlayStation Plus in March 2022. This service combines Sony’s both PlayStation Now and PlayStation Plus memberships into a single service, Earlier, the company stated that this service will be unveiled within the first half of 2022 and now it has announced the official date of the service’s rollout which will take place on June 23, 2022. The company has not only revealed the launch date of the service but has also released a detailed list of both PS5 and PS4 games that will be available with this service. Sony has listed the games that will be available for subscribers under different plans like — PlayStation Plus Essential Extra and Deluxe plans.
Sony PlayStation Plus price and availability
The upcoming PlayStation Plus service will launch in India on June 23 along with other regions like — Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. The service will also launch around the world on different dates for different regions. For example, the service will arrive in some Asian countries on May 24 and it will come to Japan on June 2. Whereas, North and South America will get the service on June 13.
The new PlayStation Plus service will be available in three subscription tiers. Each tier will include a different set of privileges and game portfolios. However, the portfolio in each tier will also include hundreds of the latest and oldest titles for users to explore. Players will receive special in-game content like — members-only skins, cosmetics, weapons and more for free-to-play games like Fortnite and Apex Legends, along with some other features on buying a subscription to the service. Sony will also offer the subscribers 100 GB of cloud storage alongside the ability to play multiplayer and co-op games with a friend and more.
The PlayStation Plus Essential subscription will be priced at Rs 499 ($7) for a month’s service. This tier of subscription will offer PS4 games and one PS5 game to download each month. It will also offer the online multiplayer ability and other core features. PlayStation Plus Extra will cost around Rs 749 ($10) for a month. This tier will offer players access to the Game catalogue where they can download hundreds of PS4 and PS5 games, as well as “Plus Essential” perks. Whereas, the PlayStation Plus Deluxe subscription will carry a price tag of Rs 849 ($11) for a month. This tier will include all the features from the other two plans. Sony will also offer Deluxe subscribers limited game trials (two hours per game), the Classic catalogue and even cloud streaming.
PlayStation Plus game catalogue
Sony has announced that certain games will be included with a PlayStation Plus subscription. However, the company is not expected to include new first-party titles in subscription packages. This means that titles such as Horizon Zero Dawn, Forbidden West, and Gran Turismo 7 will not be included initially in the PlayStation Plus.
