Generative AI is the buzzword these days. Apps, software, programs — all are trying to incorporate generative AI in one form or another. Snapchat is the latest app to do so with a feature called My AI Snaps.
How will My AI Snaps work?
According to Snapchat, when Snapchat+ subscribers are chatting with My AI, they can send it Snaps of what they’re up to and receive a unique generative Snap back that keeps the conversation going. The feature is available only for Snapchat+ subscribers, which means ‘free’ users will not be able to use it.
Snapchat said that users have been using My AI as a tool for creativity to learn more about the world, and ask about movies, sports, video games, or even what to wear to prom.
Snap My AI a picture of your pizza, OOTD, or even your furry best friend, and My AI may respond with a Snap back in reaction to what you’re doing. Snapchat explained that for instance, a user shares a snap of grocery items with Snap My AI, it might end up recommending a recipe on based on it.
Snapchat has made it clear that all messages shared with My AI, Snaps will be stored and may be used to improve the product experience. “While it was designed to avoid biased, incorrect, harmful, or misleading information, mistakes may occur, so please do not rely on it for advice, and let us know if you have any feedback,” the company said.
Snapchat+ is priced at Rs 49 per month in India. It offers features like:

  • Pinned Friend: You can pin a friend as your #1 BFF, and they will be displayed at the top of your chat list.
  • Rewatch Indicator: You can see who has rewatched your Stories.
  • Custom App Icon: You can change the icon of the Snapchat app to a custom design.
  • Ad-Free: You will not see any ads when you use Snapchat+.
