Snapchat has more than 100 million Indian users and it enables users to express themselves in different ways through customized Bitmojis to allow users to experience shopping and new places with AR lenses.
Here are the key updates rolled out by Snapchat in 2022:
Director Mode
Director Mode is a new set of camera and editing tools within Snapchat that makes it easy to create polished content. Within Director Mode, creators can use Snapchat’s new Dual Camera capability that lets you use the front-facing and back-facing camera at the same time.

Snapchat for Web
Snapchat for Web is a new way for the community to stay connected through our camera when they’re at their computers. Snapchat for Web includes top messaging features like Chat Reactions and Chat Reply, along with Lenses which are to be rolled out soon. This feature is available to Snapchat+ subscribers globally.
Snapchat+
Snapchat introduced its Snapchat+ subscription in India for just ₹49 per month. The paid service brings many exclusive features and prioritized support from the Snapchat team.
Family Centre
Snap introduced Family Centre in India, a new in-app tool that provides parents with more insight into who their teens are friends with on Snapchat, and who they have been communicating with, without revealing any of the substance of those conversations. Family Centre mirrors how parents engage with their teens in the real world, where parents usually know who their teens are friends with and when they are hanging out—but don’t eavesdrop on their private conversations.
Username change feature for the users
All Snapchatters across iOS and Android are now able to change their username without any impact on their friends list, Snap code, Snap score, memories, etc.
Ray Tracing and Lens Cloud to empower AR Lens creators
Snap’s Lens Studio announced the launch of the feature “Ray Tracing” this year aimed towards making AR elements look truer to life on the application. Along with this, the company also introduced Lens Cloud to empower students with essential AR skills.
