Simran Kaur, who will soon be seen in Zee TV’s romantic drama Aggar

How and when did you realise you had a passion for acting?

When I started lending my voice to Nobita for the cartoon Doraemon, I realised I wanted to do something in this field. And, of course, I worked on myself and started watching movies from across genres to work on my acting skills.

In what way is Aggar Tum Na Hote different?

It has a very unique concept and the story is very different, something which has not been explored on television before. It is a story of a nurse and her patient, and how she is so strong-headed that she does not give up on him even though all the doctors have.

How has it been shooting with Himanshu Soni?

It has been an amazing experience shooting with Himanshu so far. He is more like a support system and always guides me through. I am sure we have a long way to go.

How do you prepare in advance for a role?

I always do my homework for any role. For instance, I am playing the role of a nurse in Aggar Tum Na Hote, so, to get a better understanding of the technicalities of a nurse’s job, I went to a hospital for a month every weekend and observed them thoroughly.

How difficult is it to establish yourself in the film industry?

I believe one should work hard; the rest will eventually fall in place.

What is your mantra of success?

Love what you do.

How do you think social media can help a celebrity?

Social media plays a very important role in shaping a celebrity’s career. I do my bit and am very much active on it. I feel social media has a lot of power.

What else do you like other than acting?

I love dancing; I have learnt dancing professionally. I also love travelling and trying out different cuisines. I am a big-time foodie!
