Siemens Healthineers announces 3 key partnerships to advance healthcare innovation in India – ET HealthWorld
Bangalore: Siemens Healthineers announced strategic partnerships with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), HealthCare Global Enterprises Ltd (HCG), and Narayana Health (NH), to make India an innovation centre for Healthineers globally.
Peter Schardt, Chief Technology Officer, Siemens Healthineers, said “India is a strategic market for Siemens Healthineers and it plays an important role in global innovation and technology expansion to achieve the future of healthcare. The partnerships will build on our focus towards fighting the most threatening diseases, enabling efficient operations, and expanding access to patient care. Further added that the collaboration with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), aims to drive research and co-creation of technologies that improve imaging, and address access to care.
Speaking about the partnership, Prof Govindan Rangarajan, Director, IISc said, “As IISc is opening up a new frontier of clinical research with the establishment of the IISc Medical School and Bagchi-Parathasarathy Hospital, this partnership will strengthen our focus in integrating science, engineering and medicine. This partnership will also enable our researchers to invent technologies for better and affordable healthcare outcomes.“
Narayana Health (NH) aims to create an affordable, globally benchmarked quality-driven healthcare services model. The partnership with Siemens Healthineers will focus on advancing cardiovascular care and digital transformation in healthcare by building on the capabilities from both organisations.
Dr Devi Prasad Shetty, Chairman and Senior Consultant Cardiac Surgeon, NH, commented, “We look forward to collaborating with Siemens Healthineers to advance the digitalisation of healthcare and expand access to care, especially for cardiac patients.“
The partnership with HealthCare Global Enterprises Ltd. (HCG) aims to make cancer care more personalised through the application of diagnostic imaging technologies and artificial intelligence. Dr Ajaikumar BS, Executive Chairman, Radiation and Medical Oncologist, HCG, added, “With this partnership, we will work towards further enhancing the quality and impact of cancer care for the community at large, as well as developing fellowship programmes to advance research and academics in the oncology space.”
