Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Rashmika Mandanna react to RRR’s Golden Globes win
As the Telugu film RRR picked up its first Golden Globes award on Wednesday, India celebrated alongside the team of the hit Telugu film. Director SS Rajamouli, actors Jr NTR and Ram Charan were present alongside composer MM Keeravaani as the song was announced as the winner. Several Indian celebrities from Shah Rukh Khan to Venkatesh Daggubati, and Alia Bhatt to Rashmika Mandanna, all took to Twitter to celebrate Naatu Naatu and its historic win. Shah Rukh Khan, replying to SS Rajamouli’s tweet on his upcoming film Pathaan, wrote, “Sir just woke up and started dancing to Naatu Naatu celebrating your win at Golden Globes. Here’s to many more awards and making India so proud!!”
Jr NTR, who was thanked by Keeravaani in his speech, took to Twitter to wish the composer. He wrote, “Congratulations sir on your well-deserved Golden Globes award! I’ve danced to many songs throughout my career but Naatu Naatu will forever stay close to my heart… @mmkeeravaani.”
His RRR co-star Alia Bhatt shared the video of the win on Instagram Stories and added red heart emojis to celebrate the award. She plays Sita, the fiancée of Ram Charan’s Rama Raju in the period drama. Ajay Devgn, who is also part of the film, shared the video of the category’s announcement and wrote, “Heartiest congratulations to @mmkeeravaani, @ssrajamouli, and team RRR for bringing home the golden globe for best original song.”
Rashmika Mandanna cheered on the team and wrote, “You did it RRR so so proud and happy for you @mmkeeravaani sir @ssrajamouli @tarak9999 @AlwaysRamCharan… (fire emojis).” Samantha Ruth Prabhu shared, “Proudest moment ever (red heart emoji).”
Actor Venkatesh Daggubati wrote, “Absolutely phenomenal win!! Heartiest congratulations to @mmkeeravaani gaaru and team and the entire team of RRR for creating history right here!” Mahesh Babu, who is working on SS Rajamouli in his next, tweeted, “Watching the world cheer for an Indian film is a dream come true!! This year couldn’t have started on a better note! Congratulations @mmkeeravaani garu, @ssrajamouli sir, @tarak9999, @AlwaysRamCharan & the entire team of #RRR… Many more to come!! (hug emojis).
Actor Anupam Kher wrote, “What a moment for Indian cinema! Congratulations to the entire team of @RRRMovie! Specially to the masters @mmkeeravaani and @ssrajamouli! And to our friends @AlwaysRamCharan and Jr NTR! They literally danced into the hearts of audiences worldwide! Jai Ho!(heart eyed and Indian flag emojis).”
RRR was nominated in two categories at the Golden Globes. It lost out in the Best Non-English Language Film category to Argentina, 1985.
