Samsung to host Galaxy Unpacked Event in home country to launch next generation of foldables – Smartprix

After launching the flagship Samsung Galaxy S23 Series in early 2023, Samsung is now all set to host the Part 2 of its Unpacked Event next month. The brand has announced that it will host its 27^th Galaxy Unpacked Event later in July 2023. The next generation of foldables, namely the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 will be the highlight of this event.

Galaxy Unpacked Event in Seoul

This is the first time that Samsung is hosting an Unpacked Event in its home country South Korea. The event will be held at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul City in the latter part of July. Talking about choosing the home country as the venue, TM Roh, President & Head of Mobile Experience Business at Samsung Electronics said, “Hosting Unpacked in Seoul holds great significance both as it is a city that has become an emerging epicenter of innovation and culture as well as the foldable category.”

He further added, “Seoul is the beating heart of Samsung’s dynamic growth worldwide. It is where Samsung’s openness philosophy and innovation vision come from, guiding the future of the company. In just half a century, Seoul has undergone a remarkable transformation, emerging as a vibrant center of technology innovation and culture. It continuously reinvents itself as a hotbed of cutting-edge technologies that will shape the future, surpassing the growth achieved in the past and the prevailing cultural trends of the present.”

Also talking about launching the next generation of foldables at the event, Roh said, “The foldable category embodies Samsung’s philosophy of delivering breakthrough innovation that pushes boundaries to reshape the future of mobile experiences.”

Samsung hosted its first ever Unpacked Event in March 2010 in Las Vegas and ever since, the brand has hosted its event in key cities around the world including New York, Berlin, London, and more. With the 27^th Unpacked in Seoul, Samsung aims to shift its direction for Unpacked for foldable devices to focus on different trend-leading cultural cities around the globe closely aligning with the designated theme of the event. The first foldable by Samsung came out in 2019 and ever since then the brand has been building on that to create a wider market for foldables.

Expectations from the Galaxy Unpacked Event in July

Apart from the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5, Samsung is expected to launch Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Tab S9 Series at the event.
