NEW DELHI: Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 finally received the much-awaited feature. Samsung launched the Galaxy Watch 4 last year in August. Since the launch of the wearable its users have been waiting for the Google Assistant support. At the time of the launch, the smartwatch came with only Bixby support.
Google showcased the first look of the Assistant running on the Galaxy Watch 4 in February this year. The Google Assistant on the Galaxy Watch 4 comes with a new design and launching ‘Hey Google’ will open the fullscreen UI and the four colour light bar at the bottom which reacts to the voice commands. But now the Galaxy Watch 4 users can now use Google Assistant on the wearable.
“Starting today, Galaxy Watch4 users will also be able to download Google Assistant on their devices gaining access to fast, more natural voice interactions, quick answers to questions and on-the-go help. With access to both Bixby and Google Assistant, consumers will have access to more advanced voice assistant functionality right from their wrists,” Samsung said in a statement.
The company has not yet rolled out the Google Assistant support for Galaxy Watch 4 users in all the regions. Presently, users in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Australia, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan will be able to use the feature. The Galaxy Watch 4 users in India will have to wait for some more time to get the feature.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 features
The smartwatch comes with a 1.2-inch AMOLED display with 396×396 pixel resolution. The Always On Display is protected with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass on top. The wearable comes with BioActive Sensor, which according to the company is a 3-in-1 sensor that uses a single chip to precisely run three health sensors — Optical Heart Rate, Electrical Heart and Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis. This means that this sensor will be able to make the Galaxy 4 series monitor blood pressure, detect irregular heartbeat and measure blood oxygen levels.
The smartwatch also comes with support to measure the Body Composition measurement tool gives users a deeper understanding of their general health and fitness, with key measurements like skeletal muscle, basal metabolic rate, body water and body fat percentage. Other than this, the device can also keep a track of your calorie counts and sleep patterns.
In terms of hardware, Samsung has equipped the smartwatches with Exynos W920 SoC and paired them with 1.5GB RAM. The wearables also pack 16GB of onboard storage.
