After rolling out for the Galaxy S21 and the foldable phones Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3, The beta program for the new Android 12- based Samsung OS One UI 4 will be released for the Galaxy S20 devices too, as per a report by SamMobile. The report is based upon information obtained from a post by an official moderator of the Samsung Members forum.
According to the information, Android 12-based One UI 4.0 beta program is being readied for the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra devices. The post also adds that One UI 3.1 with firmware version ending on EUI4 will be the last Android 11-based update to come to these smartphones.
With the One UI 4.0, users will get improved stock apps, Material You dynamic colour themes, lock screen widgets, dedicated quick settings toggles for switching off camera and microphone access and new widget designs. The update is also claimed to enhance the security and privacy of the devices.
The One UI 4.0 beta program is reportedly expected to be opened by the end of November 2021. The first countries to get the update will be the US, UK, China, Germany, India, and South Korea, with more countries to be added later on.
To enrol in the Samsung OneUI beta programme, you need to download the Samsung Members application from Galaxy Store or the Google Play Store first. After downloading the application, login with your Samsung Account, and select the “Registration for One UI Beta Program” to register.
