Samsung launches Galaxy Tab S9 series with IP68 water and dust-resistant rating – Times of India

Alongside the new foldables, Samsung has also announced the updated Galaxy Tab S9 series. The new lineup includes three models — Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+ and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra.

The Galaxy Tab S9 series is the first tablet from the company to offer an IP68 water and dust-resistant rating. Samsung has in fact also made the SPen IP68 rated Apart from that, the tablet is powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series: Features
Galaxy Tab S9 features an 11-inch display, WQXGA display with 2560×1600 pixel resolution. The Galaxy Tab S9+ comes with a 12.4-inch display with 2800×1752 pixel resolution. The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra houses a 14.6-inch Super AMOLED WQXGA+ display with 2960×1848 pixel resolution.
All three devices feature SuperAMOLED Dynamic 2X display with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. All three also support Vision Booster for a better viewing experience. Also, the onboard quad AKG-tuned speakers with Dolby Atmos add to the viewing experience on these tablets. To future enhance the audio experience, Samsung is also offering users the option to choose from different modes like gaming, music, movies, etc.
It automatically detects bright lighting conditions and adapts to keep the screen vivid. With the Smart Book Cover, users can adjust the device to either portrait or landscape orientation for hands-free viewing.
The new Android tablets from the company run One UI 5.1.1 based on Android 13 operating system and are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. In terms of RAM and storage, the Galaxy Tab S9 and Tab S9+ are available in two configurations — 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB. The Tab S9 Ultra has a third variant in addition to these two — 16GB + 1TB.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ feature dual rear cameras with 13MP primary sensor and 6MP ultra-wide angle lens. There’s a 12MP camera to facilitate video calling and selfies.
On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S9 Ultra comes with a dual front camera setup and dual rear camera setup The rear of the Android tablet comes with a 13MP primary sensor and 6MP ultra-wide angle lens, whereas the front features two 12MP cameras.
Galaxy Tab S9 series supports 45W fast charging. The Galaxy Tab S9 is backed by an 8000mAh battery, the Tab S9+ is backed by a 10,090mAh battery. While the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra comes with an 11,200mAh battery.
Samsung has also updated the heat dissipation setup with an updated vapour chamber. The tablets now come with two-way heat dissipation that claims to help sustain better performance over a longer usage period.
Talking about third-party apps integration, Samsung has added a new LumaFusion video editing app that allows users to edit videos on the go. Clip Studio Paint app has also received an update to offer a better user experience on big-screen devices. There’s ArcSite which lets designers and professionals generate 2D CAD blueprints, comprehensive site plans and accurate estimates.
