Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Camera Specs Unveiled: Minimal Changes Expected for 2024 Flagship – Smartprix
Samsung is still several months away from the Galaxy S24 series launch but the rumors have started appearing on the web. The latest bit of information related to the Galaxy S24 has appeared on the internet revolves around the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra cameras. Following the success of the Galaxy S23 Ultra, which featured an impressive 200-megapixel camera and a revamped selfie camera, fans are eager to know if the camera capabilities of the Galaxy S24 Ultra will see significant enhancements. Reliable tipster Ice Universe, citing Korean media, has recently divulged alleged rear camera specifications for the Ultra model.
According to Ice Universe, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is rumored to sport a 200-megapixel Samsung HP2 primary camera, complemented by a 12-megapixel Sony IMX564 ultra-wide lens and a 10-megapixel Sony IMX754 telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. These camera modules appear to mirror those found in the rear camera setup of the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
Furthermore, the camera module of the Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to house a slightly modified version of the 10-megapixel IMX754+ periscope telephoto camera, offering an improved 10x optical zoom capability. It appears that this will be the primary hardware-level upgrade for the S24 Ultra. However, significant advancements in camera performance are anticipated to primarily stem from software enhancements and processing capabilities.
In addition to the rear camera setup, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will feature an LED flash and a laser autofocus unit. Unfortunately, the leaked information does not shed light on the selfie camera specifications for the Galaxy S24 Ultra, but it is likely to retain the 12-megapixel front-facing snapper that debuted with the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Details regarding the camera specifications of the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus are currently unavailable.
Furthermore, it is worth noting that Qualcomm is expected to announce its highly anticipated Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset in October of this year. Speculation suggests that an overclocked version of this chip, dubbed the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy, may power the Galaxy S24 series. While Asian and North American markets are anticipated to receive the Snapdragon variant of the S24 lineup, Samsung is expected to release the Exynos 2400 variants in Europe.
