Samsung could announce Exynos 2200 on November 19 – Smartprix

Samsung has announced to hold an Exynos Event on November 19 without revealing the products that will be part of the affair. However, the company is expected to launch its high-end chipset Exynos 2200 or Exynos 1250. Well, Exynos 2200 could power some upcoming Samsung flagship phones. And what’s more interesting is the rumor that it comes wielding an AMD GPU. Read on to know more.

Samsung Exynos Event Announcement

The South Korean electronics giant took to Instagram to officially announce the event date though it kept the product names under wraps. The post’s caption read, “Gaming has come a long way. What we used to deem ‘immersive’, relied on a slew of external factors, like the surrounding environment. But the advancements of semiconductors have changed that – learn how, when we move to our new home on Nov. 19th. Stay tuned. #EverythingChanges.”

It is widely believed that Samsung will unveil its Exynos 2200 SoC, integrated with AMD GPU, which would be an industry first. The two chipmakers have partnered to develop Exynos GPUs based on AMD RDNA2 architecture. The duo aims to offer ray tracing features to their GPUs for improved graphics detailing. The upcoming Exynos SoC will also have variable-rate shading features that allow CPUs to dynamically allocate resources according to the need for better performance.

While the popular leakster Ice Universe claims Exynos 2200 would power the Galaxy S22 lineup, another source reveals that the Indian version of Galaxy S22 will settle with Snapdragon 898 instead. 

Also, there is a fair chance that Samsung might choose to unveil Exynos 1250/1200/1280 chipset as the successor to Exynos 1080. In other news, Samsung has released LPDDR5X DRAM and it is expected to first be employed in the Galaxy S22 series phones.
