He added that if Samantha Ruth Prabhu wants something, she will go get it. Chaitanya and Samantha were married for about four years. They announced their separation on October 2, 2021.
In a promotional interview for Custody, Chaitanya was asked about the quality he likes in Samantha. “Samantha… go-getter, hard worker. Her determination is amazing. If she wants something, she will go get it,” Chaitanya said in an interview with Prema the Journalist. Speaking about the films that he liked of her in recent times, he mentioned Oh Baby! and the show Family Man 2.
In the same interview, Chaitanya opened up on his failed marriage as well. When asked about how he sees his relationship with Samantha, he said he only has immense respect for that phase.
“Whatever happened in my personal life with my marriage, that’s very unfortunate. But I have immense respect for that phase of my life. It is due to the media reportage and how they’ve portrayed everything by speculating and spreading rumours, the whole respect is lost, diminished in the public eye. This is what hurt me a lot,” Chaitanya said.
In the Venkat Prabhu-directed film Custody, Chaitanya plays a police constable and he recently took out time to interact with some police constables in Hyderabad about the experience of turning into a cop. The project marks Chaitanya’s foray into Tamil industry. He has dubbed his own lines in Tamil for the first time.
In a press interaction, Chaitanya said that he was excited to play a constable, a role that’s rarely explored in mainstream cinema. “It is a role that has not been explored much in recent times. Constables are fresh out of training and they have the fire in them to make a change. The future is in their hands,” he said.
