Samantha Ruth Prabhu reacts to mean comment about ‘losing her charm’ post illness, Varun Dhawan has a strong reply too
Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan recently hit back at a news portal which claimed that she wasn’t glowing like before at the trailer launch of her upcoming film Shaakuntalam on Monday. The tweet from the news portal read: ‘Feeling sad for Samantha. She lost all her charm and glow. When everyone thought she came out of divorce strongly and her professional life is seeing heights, myositis hit her badly, making her weak again’. Responding to it, Samantha wrote, “I pray you never have to go through months of treatment and medication like I did .. And here’s some love from me to add to your glow.”
Varun Dhawan also defended Samantha and responded to the tweet. He wrote, “You don’t feel bad about anything you just care about clickbait feel bad for you son. Also glow is available in Instagram filters. Just meet Sam trust me she was glowing.”
One of Samantha’s fans also slammed such comments made on the actor’s look and the actor called her “beautiful”. A Twitter user wrote, “As someone who has an autoimmune disease, and went through heaps of experimental treatments including steroids, with all the effects of illness & treatment that showed up visibly, these kinds of condescending remarks can feel brutal. I feel sorry for those that can’t see .”
Praising the user, Samantha wrote in her response, “In a world where you can be anything … Be kind !! @MeDamselDee You are beautiful.”
On Tuesday, Samantha shared a few pictures of herself from the trailer launch along with a quote from Martin Luther King Jr. Her caption read: “Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step. -Martin Luther King jr. This is what we’ll do.”
Samantha had stepped out after long for the trailer launch of Shaakuntalam on Monday. She was in a cream saree and wore glasses and held beads in her hand. Shaakuntalam revolves around the epic love story of Shakuntala and King Dushyant, portrayed by Samantha and Dev Mohan, respectively. It is directed by Gunasekhar and is set to hit theatres on February 17 in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.
