Kohli is now ranked second on the list with 3227 runs from 95 matches at an average of 52.04 with 29 fifties. Notably, Kohli, who stepped down as T20I captain after India’s early exit from the T20 World Cup, has been rested from the ongoing T20I series. With the series already sealed, Rohit will now aim to complete a whitewash over New Zealand as a full-time captain of the Indian team.

Rohit went on a record-breaking spree on Sunday as he became only the second cricketer after Martin Guptill to hit 150 sixes in T20 international cricket. Rohit achieved the feat by hitting Lockie Ferguson for a six over the square-leg fence. The Hitman currently stands at 150 sixes from 119 matches, 11 behind Guptill’s tally of 161 from 112 games.

Earlier on Friday, Rohit’s inning of 55 helped him equal Kohli’s record of most 50 plus scores or more in T20I cricket. Also, New Zealand opener Martin Guptill overtook Kohli to become the highest run-scorer in T20 Internationals. He has a tally of 3248 runs in 107 innings.
