Report vector-borne cases, health dept tells private hospitals – ET HealthWorld
Indore: District health officials wrote a letter to private hospitals asking them to report cases of vector-borne diseases (dengue, malaria) after it came to the fore that several failed to do it.
The tally of dengue cases in the district still stood at zero because of the non-reporting of cases.
District malaria officer, Daulat Patel said, “There are officially no dengue cases reported in the district so far this year. It came to fore that a couple of private hospitals had addressed vector-borne disease cases but didn’t report to the department.”
“The department has served a letter to all private hospitals directing them to report the cases on priority basis. The hospitals are also directed to share details of such cases along with suspected cases that underwent treatment in the hospital in the last couple of months,” Patel said.
“A private hospital has informed us about two cases it treated in January and February. The scrutiny of cases is going on and they will be added in the official record as the cases in the corresponding month,” Patel said on amendments of records.
Last year, the district had reported 242 cases of dengue.
