Redmi K60 series launch date, price, specifications, design and everything we know so far

0

Redmi K60 series is set to launch in China this week and will arrive as a follow-up to the Redmi K50 lineup and is expected to bring some notable improvements, including wireless charging support, which is a first in the Redmi K-series lineup. The top-end model in the series is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 SoC, which should make it the third Xiaomi phone with the mighty chipset. However, the Redmi K60 series won’t be as costly as the Xiaomi 13 lineup; instead, they will be priced in the mid-range flagship segment.

Ahead of the launch, here’s a quick roundup of the Redmi K60, including the launch date, expected price range, design, specifications and much more.

Redmi K60 launch date

The Redmi K60 series is set to launch in China on December 27th. We can also expect the phones to debut globally and in India eventually, but they might be rebranded under POCO branding.

Redmi K60 design

Redmi K60: Redmi K60 design hasn’t been completely revealed but the teaser images so far have shown bits and pieces of the same. The phone is said to come with a rectangular cutout on the back panel to house triple camera sensors and an LED flash. One of these will be a telephoto sensor and the primary camera will have OIS (optical image stabilisation) support. The official render image shows the Redmi K60 will have a leather finish on the back panel.

Redmi K60 Pro: Redmi K60 Pro design has been revealed via the render images shared by the company officially. The images show the phone will have a carbon fibre finish on the back panel towards the edges, which looks unique. To remind you, Redmi K20 Pro also had a carbon fibre design.

The top portion houses the IR Blaster and a microphone. The volume rocker and power button are on the right edge. The edges are slightly curved for a better grip on hands. There is a rectangle module, which houses triple camera sensors, LED flash and OIS text engraved. We believe the USB Type-C port could be at the bottom.

Redmi K60 series price (expected)

Redmi K60 series price details are not leaked, but we can expect them to be priced in the range of Rs 30,000 to Rs 45,000 in China. In comparison, the Redmi K50 series starts at RMB 2,399 (around Rs 28,500) and goes up to RMB 3,999 (approx 48,000) for the Pro variant.

Redmi K60 series specifications (expected)

Redmi K60 series is expected to pack a 6.67-inch display with up to QHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ and a punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper. The phones are likely to boot Android 13-based MIUI 14 custom out of the box and connectivity options could include 5G, 4G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a USB Type-C port for charging.

The vanilla model is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 SoC paired with Adreno GPU for graphics, probably up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The Pro version, funnily enough, is tipped to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset. But we believe the rumours are wrong and the chipsets would be the other around. Lastly, the Redmi K60E is said to ship with the MediaTek Dimensity SoC, which could be the Dimensity 8200.

As for the cameras, the Redmi K60 will feature a 64MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro sensor. There will be a 16MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats. The camera details of the rest of the models are kept under wraps, for now.

The Redmi K60 is tipped to pack a 5,500mAh battery with 67W fast-wired charging and for the first time, there will be 30W wireless charging support. The Pro model may get 120W charging speed.

Redmi Watch 3, Redmi Buds 4 Lite launch

Redmi Watch 3, Redmi Band 2 and Redmi Buds 4 Lite will also be launching in China on December 27th. The smartwatch is expected to sport a 1.75-inch AMOLED display and a silicone strap that should be available in multiple colours. The Redmi Band 2 is said to sport a 1.47-inch display and will be 9.99mm thick.
