Redmi A2 starts at Rs 5,999 for the base model with 2GB RAM + 32GB storage. The smartphone also comes with 2GB RAM + 64GB storage, and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage priced at Rs 6,499 and Rs 7,499 respectively. The Redmi A2+ is available only in one RAM and storage configuration, and it is priced at Rs 8,499.
Both smartphones will go on sale from May 23th onwards via Amazon, mi.com and offline stores. You can get the Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ in three colour options of Aqua Blue, Classic Black, and Sea Green.
Redmi A2, Redmi A2+ specifications
Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ come with the same set of specifications. There are only two key differences which will explain below:
- Display: The Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ smartphones feature a 6.52-inch HD+ display with a waterdrop notch on top.
- Processor: The two smartphones are also powered by the MediaTek Helio G36 processor.
- Cameras: You also get the same camera setup on the Redmi A2 series. This includes an 8MP primary camera and a QVGA lens. For selfies, there’s a 5MP front camera.
- Battery, charging: The Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ pack a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging support.
- Connectivity: On the Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ you get a 3.5mm headphone jack, a micro-USB port, 4G VoLTE and VoWifi. The Redmi A2+ comes with a rear fingerprint sensor which is one key difference between the two phones.
- Software: Both the smartphones run Android 13 (Go edition) out-of-the-box.
- RAM and storage: Another key difference between the two phones is in RAM and storage. The Redmi A2 comes in three options – 2GB + 32GB, 2GB + 64GB, and 4GB + 64GB. As for the Redmi A2+ it comes only with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
The Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ don’t really offer any major differences so if you’re fine with not having a fingerprint sensor then you can go for the Redmi A2. But if that is a concern then the Redmi A2+ is recommended.
