Realme teases upcoming phone with a periscope lens; Could be Realme GT 5 Pro

Realme doesn’t shy away from teasing the upcoming smartphones. Keeping that in mind, the Chinese smartphone maker is working on a new phone with a periscope lens onboard as it shared a teaser with the tagline “Not Only Max Can Zoom”. Some reports suggest it could be Realme GT 5 Pro. Here’s what we know and deciphered so far.

Realme teases upcoming phone with a periscope lens

Realme has teased an upcoming smartphone seemingly with a periscope lens. It will succeed Realme X3 SuperZoom in terms of tech which was launched in May 2020. With that being said, the upcoming Realme GT 5 Pro could be the one hailing the periscope lens denoted by a rectangular camera bump as seen in the teaser image posted below.

A glance at the tagline gives us several interpretations. First up, the line ‘Not Only Max Can Zoom’ could be a hint to Realme X3 SuperZoom which brought a periscope lens on Realme phones for the first time. However, the tagline is most likely to hint towards the recently launched Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max that brought onboard a 12MP periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom capabilities.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the tipped periscope lens on a Realme phone could be for a mid-range model instead of Realmt GT 5 Pro, however, there’s no moniker available at the time of writing this.

Talking about Realme GT 5 Pro, it will be the first Realme phone to sport a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC touted to launch this October at Snapdragon Summit 2023. There’s a 64MP telephoto snapper onboard too although we still have to wait for some more time to hear more about the yet-unreleased Realme phone with a periscope lens. We have heard that the upcoming Realme GT 5 Pro will share some specifications with OnePlus 12 5G.
