Rannvijay Singha is all set to host the first season of Indian Shark Tank, which will premiere on Sony TV on December 20

How has your experience been shooting for Shark Tank India so far?

It’s been an amazing experience. I’ve got a golden opportunity to meet so many entrepreneurs from all walks of life and hear their inspiring stories. It’s been very enriching. Some ideas start from chemistry labs, some even from kitchen, there was a good mix of all kind of products and ideas- from organic to even robotics.

What can the viewers expect from the show?

In addition to the ideas, the viewers will get to learn about the entrepreneurs’ journey, struggles and families. Furthermore, the judges of our show who are stalwarts of the start-up world also have interesting stories and advices to share. It’s new, it’s challenging and I am looking forward to see how the viewers like it.

Did you follow the global Shark Tank?

Yes, I have been a huge fan of the show and not only Shark Tank US, but I have also followed Shark Tank UK and Shark Tank Australia. Which is why, when I got an offer to be associated with the show, I was super excited.

What has been the most interesting aspect of shooting for Shark Tank India?

According to me, the most fascinating aspect has been the realisation that there is an entrepreneur in every one of us. While we were shooting the show, hearing all about the stories and ideas of the contestants, all the crew members working on the set were also sharing how even they had business ideas to pitch and share. Everyone was not only inspired but also aspired to do something big.

What kind of entrepreneurs will we see on the show?

The show will bring forth an array of entrepreneurs. Some people started from their bedrooms. Some were school friends and some are married couples, so really all kinds of businessmen and businesswomen in the show.

What change do you think Shark Tank India can bring to our start-up ecosystem?

It won’t be wrong to say that the real heroes of the country are the entrepreneurs of today; some of who are also the judges of our show. So, I believe Shark Tank India provides a life-changing opportunity to anyone and everyone who has a solid idea. With the support of our sharks, and their resources, the execution of your idea can be accelerated to a great extent. Not only this, the show will also provide motivation and inspiration to all those who are watching the show and have dreams in their heart.

The youth of our country have an indomitable entrepreneurial spirit and a passion to make it on their own, make a name for themselves. Also, the government has been actively supporting small business through various schemes and policies. Of course initiatives like Make In India is also in place. So needless to say; there are a lot of inspirational stories about entrepreneurs who’ve really knocked it out of the park with their ideas.
