Ranbir Kapoor spotted shooting for Animal at a hospital, fans are reminded of Kabir Singh

Ranbir Kapoor is back on the set of his next film Animal, which is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The actor was recently spotted shooting in a hospital for the crime drama, which also stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Rashmika Mandanna. In a small clip that has been uploaded on Twitter by the actor’s fan page, Ranbir can be seen in a blue hospital gown as he heads towards the lift. Ranbir is seen in a huge beard and unkempt long hair as he walks towards the lift while taking his mobile from the unit boy standing beside him. Another man is seen walking behind him in a long red coat.

Many fans commented on Ranbir’s look in the clip and how huge he looked in his new rugged avatar. A fan wrote, “He looks so giant!” while another said how the actor resembled so much like the character Kabir Singh, and wrote, “kabir singh connection???” Kabir Singh was also directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starred Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani in lead roles. While another commented with fire emoticons, a fan also wrote, “Tabaahi (destruction) loading!”

Earlier last year, Sandeep Reddy Vanga had shared some details about Ranbir’s character in Animal in a promotional interview with SS Rajamouli and said, “I don’t think Ranbir’s character is close to Kabir Singh. You won’t find any similarity in the characters but there’s definitely violence. What will be common between both the movies is that they’re character-driven stories.” The first look poster of Animal was released on January. Ranbir was seen wearing a blood-soaked white shirt, smoking a cigarette, and staring at someone, while carrying a bloody axe under his arm. Animal has been filmed in Himachal Pradesh as well as actor Saif Ali Khan’s Pataudi Palace near Delhi.

Ranbir was last seen in Luv Ranjan’s romantic comedy Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar alongside Shraddha Kapoor. The film released on March 8 and crossed ₹100 crore nett at the domestic box office within 11 days. Animal will be released in theatres on August 11, 2023.
