The holy month of Ramadan or Ramzan has commenced on 2nd April, 2022. Muslims follow the ritual of rigorous fasting or ‘Roza’ throughout the month to show their devotion to Allah and empathise with those less fortunate. Those who fast during Ramadan must abstain from eating or drinking during the entire day, only consuming food after sunset or at ‘Iftaar’. People who are sick or old, however, are not recommended to observe the fast. During Ramadan, it is even more important to eat right and follow the expert-recommended tips to keep the energy levels replenished. 1. Morning Meal
Rujuta Diwekar states that milk and fruit is probably the best way to finish the morning meal or ‘Sehri’. She suggests that a fruit milkshake can also be a great idea for the morning, since milk keeps thirst at bay and the addition of fruit helps ease digestion. So, make a fruit milkshake for the first meal during Ramadan.

2. How To Break the Fast
After fasting the entire day comes the time when you finally get to break the fast. Rather than immediately heading for a full-fledged meal, Rujuta Diwekar suggests to break it with yogurt and dates. “Traditional combination to keep the body cool and prevents over eating at dinner,” she says in her post. Thus, you can either consume Dahi and dates together or first Dahi followed by dates.
3. Keep Digestion smooth
The Ramadan fast that is kept for weeks at end can definitely affect the body and its digestive processes. Celebrity Nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar suggests some options that you can use to end the night meal. For instance, jaggery and ghee or even a whole banana can be used to avoid constipation and gas. Rujuta Diwekar also recommended having a laddoo made with Aliv or Garden Cress seeds to keep energy levels high during the following day.
