Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 Mobile Platform: Features
Qualcomm claims that the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 packs improved performance with the company’s Kryo CPU with a peak clock speed of up to 2.2GHz. The CPU claims to deliver up to 10% better performance. Apart from that, the chip-set supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ technology that can refill the phone up to 50% in just 15 minutes. The chipset also comes with Adreno GPU.
In addition to this, the chipset supports up to FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate for a faster and smooth user experience.
In terms of camera support, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 comes with built-in Multi Camera Temporal Filtering (MCTF) that claims to reduce noise in videos. Other than this, the chipset supports electronic image stabilisation, and faster autofocus and also comes with AI camera improvements. This includes AI-based low light photography for detailed and sharp images and videos, AI-enhanced background noise removal for detailed and sharp video recording as well as video calls.
Connectivity options include Snapdragon X61 5G Modem-RF System, Qualcomm Wi-Fi 5 for faster and more reliable connectivity.

Smartphones set to launch based on Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 Mobile Platform
Qualcomm hasn’t revealed the exact names of the phones that will be based on this new platform. However, the company has confirmed that the key OEM brands – Redmi and Vivo will adopt the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 and devices are expected to be announced in the second half of 2023.
