PUBG Mobile 2.0 update set to launch: All the new features you will get – Times of India

The popular battle royale game for mobile devices, PUBG Mobile, is set to get new version 2.0. The PUBG Mobile 2.0 update is expected to arrive today (May 11) and is likely to bring in — a new map, advanced mechanics, upgraded items and a partnership with the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion. The company also released a preview of the upcoming update on YouTube which you can watch here.

New changes to be introduced in PUBG Mobile 2.0
The Livik map will be updated to represent a more colourful and playful side of PUBG and will be released with the new update. The developer is said to be been testing the new map for almost two years and these will finally be introduced with the PUBG Mobile 2.0 update. Livik will also include some other new items like — a new four-seater Utility Task Vehicle. This new vehicle will also appear on the previous map, Aftermath.
The new update will also include the latest game mechanics where a “golden resource-rich area” will spawn at the beginning of each match. Moreover, players will be able to access a soccer field and special crates which they can track down using treasure maps.
The PUBG Mobile 2.0 update will also introduce a Neon Genesis Evangelion event where the angels from the anime will be added to the map. The developers have shared a post on Instagram to announce that this event will start on May 14. The preview video depicts Shinji’s Evangelion Unit-01 walking around in the game while a player tries to shoot it.

When will the new PUBG Mobile season start?
The new Livik map will be available for PUBG Mobile players following the official launch. All the other new items will be available once the new season officially begins on May 19.
