What made you accept Tera Yaar Hoon Main?
Well, it is my third show with Sony Sab and it has always been a pleasure associating with it. I am enjoying working with the team. My character Mamta and the beautifully crafted story of the show made me accept the offer.
Tell us about your role in the show.
I absolutely love my character. Mamta is intelligent but at the same time, she is carefree, bubbly and reckless at times.
How is this role different from the roles you have played earlier?
Mamta is an independent, progressive and opinionated woman. She loves to discuss topics such as live-in relationships, LGBTQ rights and topics which traditional families usually don’t talk about. This makes my role stand out and different from what I have played so far.
Any special preparations?
For this character, I learnt Marwari. It is an exciting opportunity when a character adds to your skills.
How is your rapport with co-stars Ssudeep Sahir and Sayantani Ghosh?
It is more than a month that I am shooting with the cast and crew of the show, and we are all like a family now. I instantly got along with Ssudeep Sahir and Sayantani Ghosh. They were so welcoming.
Talking about your career, when did you decide to be an actor? Did your family support you?
My mother wanted me to be an actor. She wanted her children to be famous. Post my class 10 exams my mother used to take me to all the auditions. I am glad that I have had all the support from my family in my journey.
Which role is your favourite and why?
Malayalam film Anarkali will always be special for me. I have essayed the role of Nadira Imam, the daughter of Admiral Jaffer Imam (Kabir Bedi) in the movie. It marked my debut in Malayalam films.
How difficult it is to establish yourself in the film industry?
Hard work is essential for any field and the same is in the film industry too. So, put your best foot forward and success will be yours.
