Premium: YouTube announces five features for Premium subscribers: What are they – Times of India

YouTube Premium enables subscribers to get more features, such as ads-free watching and background play. The Google-owned company is now adding some more features, some of which can be tried right away. It also announced that YouTube now has 80 million Premium members.
YouTube queue
Queuing feature enables users to control what they see by allowing them to decide exactly what video you want to play next. It was previously available on the web and now it is expanding to phones and tablets running Android and iOS.
Cross-device viewing
YouTube is expanding the ability to continue watching YouTube videos wherever users previously left off even as they switch between devices, on Android, iOS and Web. So, if you were watching a video in the morning on your phone, you can continue watching it on your tablet at night from the same spot where you left it.
Enhanced video quality on iOS
To provide an even higher video quality experience for our Premium members, YouTube will roll out an enhanced bitrate version of 1080p HD video quality starting on iOS (and an experiment coming to Web soon too) in the coming weeks.
“While all users will still have access to 1080p, this enhanced 1080p quality setting will look extra crisp and clear, especially for videos with lots of detail and motion. Whether you’re an avid sports fan or locked in on the latest gaming videos, this new feature will bring an even deeper visual quality to our members,” the company said.
Watch YouTube offline
YouTube Premium offers a Smart Downloads feature that automatically downloads recommended videos in the Library while the users are connected to Wi-Fi. The feature comes in handy when you forget to download content before boarding a long flight.
Watch YouTube with friends
YouTube enables Premium members to host Google Meet sessions where all attendees, regardless of whether they are Premium or free users, can watch YouTube videos together. This feature is facilitated through Meet Live Sharing on Android devices, and the company has announced that in the coming weeks, is also rolling out this experience for FaceTime users on iOS via SharePlay.
