Preity Zinta reveals her favourite scene from ‘saddest happy film’ Kal Ho Naa Ho as it turns 19

Preity Zinta took to Instagram and shared her favourite scene from her film Kal Ho Naa Ho with Shah Rukh Khan. Kal Ho Naa Ho completed 19 years of its release on November 27. Preity called it her ‘saddest happy film.’ She expressed her gratitude to be part of the film and said she enjoyed it thoroughly. The clip showed how Shah Rukh tried to explain Preity the art of living, to live in the present while keeping a smile on one’s face and not worrying about future. Filmmaker Karan Johar wrote the story and screenplay of the film. It was directed by Nikkhil Advani and produced by Yash Johar and was his last film before his death in 2004.

Sharing the clip on Instagram, Preity wrote, “Remembering Kal Ho Naa Ho on its anniversary this Thanksgiving weekend. This is one of my favourite scenes from the film cuz multiple pages of dialogues were shot in one big take. Later a few close ups were added. This scene is all about gratitude & appreciating what we have in our present. This was my saddest happy film. So grateful to have the opportunity to be part of films & cinema I enjoy & believe in.” She used ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’, ‘Gratitude’, ‘Thanks giving’, ‘Weekend’, ‘Ting’ as the hashtags on the post. Actor Delnaaz Irani wrote, “Love you my Naina (red heart emojis).”

Reacting to the movie clip, One of Preity’s fans wrote, “One of the best dialogues ever, I got kal ho naa ho tattooed on my wrist so I have an everyday reminder of gratitude and appreciating what we have in the present before it’s too late.” Another fan commented, “This makes me to watch this film again.” Other fan wrote, “Naina was so lovely as lovely as youuu, Zee! In Kal Ho Naa Ho, Preity essayed the role of Naina Catherine Kapur who fell in love with Aman Mathur played by Shah Rukh Khan. The film also starred Saif Ali Khan, Jaya Bachchan, Sushma Seth, Reema Lagoo, Lillete Dubey alongside Delnaaz Paul and Sonali Bendre.
