Possible Xiaomi 13 Ultra to launch globally
Xiaomi CEO, Lei Jun has confirmed the next iteration of the Ultra flagship will launch globally. This comes after the Xiaomi 12S Ultra received terrific reviews, thanks to the top-of-the-line specifications, hardware, and impressive Leica cameras. The CEO, however, hasn’t shared the timeline for the unveiling of the possible Xiaomi 13 Ultra. We’re curious to see what the next version of the phone would pack.
Xiaomi 12S Ultra specifications
To recall the Xiaomi 12S Ultra specifications, it comes with a 6.73-inch AMOLED LTPO 2.0 display with 2K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, punch-hole cutout, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, Corning Gorilla Glass layer, and curved edges. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset paired with Adreno GPU, up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. It runs on Android 12-based MIUI 13 custom skin out of the box.
The Xiaomi 12S Ultra packs a large 5000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. The phone is equipped with an in-display fingerprint sensor for security, IP68 rating for water resistance, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, Hi-Res audio, and Harman Kardon speakers. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.
Moving to optics, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra has a triple camera system backed by Leica. It is the first Xiaomi phone to use the custom 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor. There’s a 48MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 48MP zoom lens. There is a 32MP shooter on the front for selfies and video chats. The Leica partnership can be seen on both hardware and software levels, with “professional lens and high-quality materials such as a refractive coating to offer cleaner pictures with better control of light and shadows, dedicated Leica modes such as Leica Vivid and Leica Natural, and the option to easily toggle between 35mm, 50mm, and 90mm focal lengths,” as stated in our first impressions of the device.
