Pizza Delivery Person Asks For “Tip” Before Handing Over Order, Internet Is Divided
From a pepperoni pizza to a scrumptious birthday cake, getting food delivered right to your doorstep sometimes feels like a blessing. This convenience is valued even more during the winters when we just don’t want to step out and brave the cold weather. Due to this, people behind making the food delivery are often appreciated through a small tip. While this gesture is quite common, it is still considered voluntary. However, what if you order some food and the delivery person asks you to give a tip even before you offer some or take delivery of the food? This was exactly the subject of a recent viral video.
In the clip, uploaded on YouTube, a delivery executive is asking for a tip before handing over a pizza order. However, when the customer does not offer any, the delivery woman is heard saying, “Do you have a car?” suggesting that the person could have instead picked up the order from the restaurant.
The house owner then proceeds to close the door saying, “I’m paying for the convenience, though. Thank you, have a nice day. Take care”. But this prompts another sarcastic response from the disgruntled delivery person who remarks before leaving, “Come get it, you know, next time”.

The video has amassed thousands of views and caused discord among users. While some were taken aback by the way the delivery person acted, others thought that she should have been given a tip.
“I wouldn’t tip after that comment about picking it up herself, if everyone did that, that delivery driver would be out of a job,” a user commented. Another wrote, “When I delivered pizza I never thought about asking for a tip, much less demanding one even before handing over a pizza. She’d be leaving my house empty-handed.” Others had mixed opinions as one wrote, “Well, tip the driver. It’s part of the delivery and it’s part of their pay. Was it rude to ask? Yeah, but it’s also rude to be stiff.”
