Pathaan song Besharam Rang: Deepika Padukone serenades Shah Rukh Khan in exotic Spain, fans ‘can’t handle their hotness’

The first song of the much-awaited film Pathaan was released by the film’s team on Monday morning. Titled Besharam Rang, the peppy dance number features the lead pair–Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone–romancing each other in exotic locales in Europe. The song opens with Spanish lyrics as we see visuals of Deepika, wearing a golden monokini jump in a pool and then emerge out of it. Shah Rukh Khan, wearing a beach shirt and fedora, then arrives poolside and looks on. She then dances as the lyrics talk about losing one’s heart to someone and the world being unaware of one’s ‘besharam rang’ (unabashed side). Shah Rukh, now dressed in all white, smirks as he watches.

Pretty soon, Shah Rukh goes shirtless showing off his chiselled bod and joins Deepika on the makeshift dance floor, which seems to be on a beachfront shack. The action then moves to a pristine beach where Shah Rukh and Deepika dance away as drummers play rhythmic beats.

Fans praised the song’s beats and music as well as the lead pair’s chemistry. “They are too hot to handle,” read one comment. Another said, “This is the party anthem of the year.” Many fans compared Deepika’s look to some of her earlier songs like Jugni and Khuda Jaane.

Besharam Rang has been composed by Vishal-Sheykhar with lyrics by Kumaar. The Spanish lyrics of the song have been written by composer-singer Vishal Dadlani. The song has been sung by Shilpa Rao, Caralisa Monteiro, Vishal and Sheykhar with choreography by Vaibhavi Merchant. Last year, paparazzi shots of Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika filming the song in Spain had surfaced online giving fans the first look at its colourful visuals. The film’s teaser, which was unveiled on Shah Rukh’s birthday on November 2, also included glimpses from the music video. The star further piqured fans’ curiosity by releasing first look pictures of Deepika and himself on social media over the last 3-4 days.

Pathaan marks Shah Rukh Khan’s return to the big screen in over four years. The action thriller also stars John Abraham and is directed by Siddharth Aanand. The film is scheduled to be released in theatres on January 25, 2023. It will be released in Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions apart from Hindi.
