Overnight coverage includes freestyle skiing and pairs figure skating.

The U.S. broadcast coverage of the 2022 Winter Games continues on Friday with medal events in freestyle skiing, speedskating and biathlon, as well as the start of the pairs figure skating competition. All times are Eastern.

FREESTYLE SKIING Brady Leman of Canada will defend his 2018 Olympic title in the men’s ski cross competition, airing on the NBC Olympic Channel at 1 a.m. After the first round, the quarterfinals will air at 1:35 a.m., the semifinals at 1:54 a.m. and the finals at 2:10 a.m.

FIGURE SKATING The pairs figure skating competition starts at 5:30 a.m. with the short program, and will air on the NBC Olympic Channel and the USA Network. The favorites going in are China’s Sui Wenjing and Han Cong, the silver medalists from the 2018 Olympics, who missed out on gold there by just 0.43 of a point. Also skating are two American pairs: Alexa Knierim and Brandon Frazier, and Ashley Cain-Gribble and Timothy LeDuc.

SPEEDSKATING The men’s 1,000-meter finals will air at 3:30 a.m. on the NBC Olympic Channel and at 4 a.m. on the USA Network. Thomas Krol of the Netherlands, who was edged out by a teammate in the 1,500-meter race, will be looking for a gold here against Ning Zhongyan of China. The American competitors are Austin Kleba and Jordan Stolz.

BIATHLON The women’s 12.5-kilometer mass start will air at 2 a.m. on the NBC Olympic Channel and at 4:45 a.m. on the USA Network, and the men’s 15-kilometer mass start will air at 4 a.m. on the NBC Olympic Channel. Deedra Irwin, on the women’s side, will be the only American competing.
