Oppo introduces Air Glass at Inno Day event 2021 – Times of India

Smartphone brand Oppo unveiled its assisted reality device – Oppo Air Glass at its ongoing Inno Day 2021 event. The aR wearable comes equipped with the company’s self-developed spark micro projector. It offers four different kinds of user interactions through touch, voice, head movement, and hand motion.
Oppo Air Glass will be launched in the first quarter of 2022 in China. It will be available in two colours — Black and White — along with two custom frame accessories.
The device is said to feature a lightweight and minimalist design. It is claimed to be one of the lightest monocle waveguide devices in the industry and can be worn much like a pair of regular glasses.
Oppo Air Glass comes integrated with Oppo’s micro projector, advanced micro LED, and custom waveguide technology. It is said to deliver bright and sharp content whether worn indoors or outdoors. The smart glass’s projector is 0.5cc, or roughly the size of a coffee bean. The micro LED has a brightness of up to 3 million nits.
The Air Glass supports two display modes – 16-level grayscale and 256-level grayscale – and can deliver up to 1400 nits in average brightness. It is said to be designed to be as accessible to as many people as possible, including users with refractive errors such as myopia and hypermetropia.
The smart wearable can be operated using the Smart Glass app on Oppo Watch 2 and any Oppo smartphone installed with ColorOS 11 or above versions. When paired with an Oppo Watch 2, users can also use hand movements to confirm, cancel, and switch application cards. It comes installed with a variety of applications, including Weather, Calendar, Health, Teleprompter, Translation, and Navigation.
