OnePlus phone under Rs 15,000 could be a rebranded OPPO A57

The OPPO A57, which will be rebranded as the OnePlus phone will boot the OxygenOS 12.1 custom skin instead of ColorOS and will have a 5000mAh battery capacity. There are chances the phone might debut in India with the OnePlus logo instead of OPPO.

OPPO A57 hardware changes

Firstly, the phone’s branding will be changed from OPPO to OnePlus and this will include other cosmetic changes like battery skin change, USB colour, charging brick branding and others. The software version will be changed from ColorOS to OxygenOS 12.1 custom skin and the main optics on the back will also undergo changes. It will have a 50MP primary camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The OPPO A57 ships with a 13MP + 2MP combination.

The OPPO A57 is expected to be priced at Rs 13,500, as reported by us a few days ago. The OnePlus rebrand will also be priced in a similar bracket, under Rs 15,000, making it a suitable entrant in the affordable Nord series.

It will be powered by the MediaTek Helio G35 chipset paired with up to 8GB (including extendable RAM) and 64GB of storage that will be further expandable via a microSD card. The phone boots Android 12 out of the box.

The phone is said to measure 7.99mm in thickness and weigh 187 grams. It will have a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. It will be equipped with an ultra-linear dual stereo speaker and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security. Moving to optics, the OPPO A57 is expected to have dual camera sensors on the back, with a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary lens. It could house an 8MP shooter on the front for selfies and video chats.
