OnePlus Open Users Report Green Line Issue on Display – Smartprix

0

OnePlus Open (review), the first foldable phone from the smartphone manufacturer, users on the r/oneplus subreddit are reporting a concerning issue – the appearance of green lines on the device’s screen. While the extent of the problem is not yet clear, several users have expressed their frustration over the green lines, some of which are reportedly disrupting their overall user experience.

One user, in a particularly distressing account, claimed that their OnePlus Open‘s screen had “died,” with dead pixels appearing around the hinge area. This issue could potentially cast a shadow over OnePlus’s foray into the foldable device market, as the company has not yet acknowledged these display problems or provided any official response.

Speculation has arisen that the issue might be software-induced, based on previous incidents with other OnePlus devices such as the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 9.

OnePlus’s response to this issue was echoed in a statement by OnePlus India back in August when they acknowledged the inconvenience caused by display problems on affected devices. In a bid to rectify the situation, the company encouraged affected users to visit their nearest OnePlus service center for device diagnosis, offering free screen replacements for devices afflicted by the issue. Additionally, they provided a voucher to affected OnePlus 8 and 9 Series device owners, facilitating an upgrade to a new OnePlus device at a reduced cost. The introduction of a lifetime screen warranty was part of their effort to mitigate the issue’s impact.

OnePlus’s response to the green line problem will be closely monitored by its user base and the broader tech community, as the issue’s resolution will play a significant role in shaping the reputation of OnePlus’s foldable devices.
