The top five brands list also includes the likes of Oppo and Xiaomi. Xiaomi’s 12 Pro premium smartphone has done well and has successfully become the most popular premium smartphone that is priced at Rs 50,000 and above category. The report also suggests that OnePlus has specifically managed to outdo the competition in midrange and premium smartphone segments.

OnePlus in India

OnePlus, the popular Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has come to the top with its performance in the smartphone market in India for the first half of 2022. OnePlus has also garnered the most popularity in the Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000 price bracket, with 28.5 percent of the study’s sample owning a OnePlus device from this price range. Samsung, with a 28.1 percent share, closely trails behind OnePlus in this segment.

The OnePlus 10R, a sub-Rs 40,000 device, comes out on top and becomes the most popular device in the segment. Customer satisfaction also stands strong for the OnePlus 10R.

Another interesting inference that can be drawn from the report posted by MSP is the fact that in every price range from Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000, a OnePlus device holds one of the top three positions in the segment in terms of popularity. From Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000, the OnePlus 10R and from Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000, the OnePlus 9RT maintained a podium ranking in terms of popularity.

OnePlus 10 Pro comes in second when we consider the Rs 50,000 and up category. It falls short of the Xiaomi 12 Pro, which has gone on to become the most popular premium smartphones that are priced in the Rs 50,000 and above category. Both the Xiaomi 12 Pro and the OnePlus 10 Pro are more popular than the Samsung S22 Ultra, the Vivo X80 Pro 5G and the Vivo X80 5G.

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer also did well when it came to brand loyalty and customer satisfaction. OnePlus comes in just after Apple in terms of brand loyalty, which means that OnePlus users are likely to move to another OnePlus device instead of switching brands. Customer satisfaction also seems to ring the right bells as customers rated OnePlus smartphones well in categories such as charging speed, display quality, smartphone speed, rear camera, front camera, and battery life.

The data that has been provided via the MSP Smartphone Consumer Report has been compiled after having surveyed a sample pool size having 10,000 respondents. The data is also influenced by impressions generated on MSP’s website over the course of the study period.
