OnePlus announces its first-ever tablet, the OnePlus Pad – Times of India
OnePlus has announced the much-anticipated OnePlus Pad, a first for the Chinese smartphone manufacturer. OnePlus says that its first tablet is designed to deliver a fast and smooth experience to tablet users.
OnePlus Pad has a unibody metal body made of aluminium alloy, with a centred rear camera. Meanwhile, on the front, the display has 2.5D rounded edges, with 6.54mm slim bezels and an 88 per cent screen-to-body ratio. The tablet comes in the Halo Green shade.
To accessorise the Pad, users can buy the Magnetic Keyboard and OnePlus Stylo stylus.
OnePlus Pad has it both — Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos
The tablet has an unusual aspect ratio of 7:5, which shows more lines of an ebook and rows in a spreadsheet, as per the company. The display measures 11.6 inches, with a 144Hz refresh rate and support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision playback.
With support for Dolby Atmos and OnePlus’ in-house omni-bearing sound field technology, the quad-speaker setup of the OnePlus Pad can intelligently identify the screen direction and switch between the right and left audio channels, promising to deliver an immersive sound.
Under the hood, the OnePlus Pad comes with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 chipset, which has a Cortex-X2 core with a clock speed of 3.05GHz. The chipset comes paired with up to 12GB of RAM.
OnePlus Pad boasts a 9510mAh battery and comes with the 67W SuperVOOC charger. An 80 minutes charge that charges the tablet from 0 to 100 per cent can last for over 14.5 hours of video playback and a month of standby.
With the Pad, OnePlus plans to build an ecosystem. The OnePlus Pad offers a seamless connection with the OnePlus smartphone that is on the latest version of OxygenOS. One such example is that users can share the cellular internet of their OnePlus smartphone with the OnePlus Pad.
OnePlus Pad is slated to go on pre-orders in India, Europe, and North America later in April. So far, there is no word on the pricing, but OnePlus says that it will be sharing the details on pricing and availability in the coming weeks.
